Today, I was a tourist.
I started at La Sagrada Familia and did the audiotour.  I would recommend it.

 The columns look like trees.

Then, I headed to Paseo de Gracia to walk.
 Casa Batllo-designed by Gaudi.
 I wish I lived here.

 Pedrera--also designed by Gaudi.

 Restaurant with smoked hams hanging.

Basilica called Santa Maria del Mar
An Ibizan hound--one of my favorites.
The Picasso museum.  I got in cheap because I'm not 25 yet--hurray!  My favorite painting was called First Communion.  He did it when he was only 15 and it's fantastic.

The big doors clanked open as I walked by, so I got to see the inside of the basilica.  I was astounded.

This bakery is on a street by Juan's flat.
I have to put this photo in here because I'm sure that Juan won't appreciate it.  haha
 The terrace.

 Catalonians marching.
The beach in Barcelona is fantastic.  The water is warm and you can swim out to where the water is over 15' deep and you can still see the sandy bottom below.  Juan randomly jumped up, ran, and dived into the water head first.  I thought he was going to kill himself, but alas, he knew what he was doing.  There is glitter in the sand.  After the first time we went, I was wondering how I got glitter on me.  Then the second time I noticed it sparkling in the water.
About half the people were nude.  Here is a nice butt shot for you.  haha
Beach volleyball and some Spanish game.
We went to the Catalonian independence day rally just to see it.
There were 1.5 million people there.  They would chant in Catalan.  Juan told me not to tell anyone that he was Spanish.  I wonder what people would do if you wore a shirt with a red bull on it that said SPAIN in big  letters.  Probably something akin to what Iowa City people do to Iowa Staters, only worse.  We had nothing to worry about except the massive crowd.  Sometimes people thought we were both Americans when we spoke English to each other.

 This is a beautiful house.

Juan randomly said to me, "Allie, I'm taking you to a castle."  I was just like, "Okay."  So, we left the Catalonian square and headed to the Spanish square, where ironically, there was very few people.  This is a pic of an old bull fighting arena there.  Bull fighting is illegal in Bcn now.  Maybe it is too Spanish or inhumane for people.

This was the Royal Palace.  It's a museum now.

The Metro was pretty packed on the way home.
This was by the vet school.  I have never seen a plant like this one before.  There is also tan lizards that frequently scamper across the sidewalks.
