Oh my, all I have been doing is working or having fun and I haven't had a single spare minute to write!
This is the court house in Lafayette.  It's pretty.  I took it's picture.

This is John, a Chem E grad student at Purdue.  And yes, he's wearing a pink jersey that say's Rainbow Bunnies on it, complete with an associated cartoon.  When I wasn't working at Purdue, I was usually with John.  He's an amazing person.  Thankfully, Purdue's not too far from ISU, so I will be able to keep seeing him when I can.
This is a bike trail on Purdue's campus.
 This is Purdue's theater.
A beautiful, life-sized statue outside the vet school.

I went to visit one of my best friends, Caitlin, in Milwaukee.  It was soo good to see her!

Bowling with Caitlin's friend, Leigh and Leigh's bf.

I almost broke 100.  That's not too bad right?

We went to a farmer's market and looked at the beautiful produce.
 Seagulls!
St. John's Cathedral.
JP II--one of my fav theologians/popes.
I like this statue.  We live to serve others!

The stations of the cross were all beautiful, golden mosaics.

I went running on trails in these woods this morning.  The hills were killer but it wasn't too bad once my muscles loosened up.  There were down trees criss-crossing the trails at places and I felt like I was a deer, especially when one trail spit me out into a little meadow.
State bird of Iowa, the gold finch, eating seeds from a native prairie flower, the purple cone flower.

I went and saw the Dark Knight Rises with a Chem E grad student that I met this week and loved it!  I love all the batman movies and this one was no exception.  Anne Hathaway is one of my favorite actresses.  The grad student was pretty entertaining too.  He's from Anchorage, Alaska.  And we figured out that we both have biochem degrees!  I love engineers that appreciate biology.  Too bad he graduates in December and I'll probably never see him again after I leave next week.  Oh well!

A racehorse came in with a broken leg and I wanted to get done before 5 today so I showed the Purdue residents how to take the mandible off with an axe.  I told them, "You all might want to stand back.  This is going to splatter."  It was quick though.  Thank you, Dr. Haynes.  Then, I went and played sand volleyball!  I took these photos on the way home.
This is the church.  Like many other university parishes, it is called St. Thomas Aquinas.
 This is on Purdue's campus.
The fountain is in front of this beautiful bldg.
Summer semester students must have graduated today.  How cute.

Oh, I've been too busy to write.  Purdue seems to have a good program that's similar to, if not better than Michigan State.  The students are super slow at necropsies still and the resisdents tend to micromanage the students which makes me really frustrated but overall, the people are nice here.
One Monday, I necropsied one of these, an African wild dog.
And on Tuesday, I did one of these, a bobcat.  Then, I went to Theology on Tap at the local church and really enjoyed it.  I met some fascinating and very intelligent folks there.  I went to evening prayer tonight and it was just me, a priest, and one very old guy.  I liked it though.  It reminded me of what it would be like to live in a convent or monastery.  I will keep going to it every day will I'm here because the church is very close to the vet school.  I went running in the woods at a local park this evening too.  It was beautiful!

I'm in Indiana.  I will miss Katie.  I'm staying with a poultry pathologist (Pat) here.  She seems cool and there's only 100 poultry vets in the country, so I'm sure I'll learn a thing or two from her.  She just survived breast cancer.  She said it could come back even as late as 20 years from now, but she's in the clear for now.  She said she loves her job so much that she kept working through chemo.

Upon arrival, I immediately received this furry Siamese cat (Luna) and an equally furry calico (Paisley) to keep me company during my stay--two of the many house cats here.  I was just like..alright, thanks.  I'm more of a dog person but it might be nice to have the cats considering I don't know anyone here.
 This is Friar John.
And my fav, King Henry VIII, a lynx pt Siamese.  They also have a Siamese named Prince Charles.  I like to sing, "We are Siamese if you please" to them when no one is around.
To top off the cat experience, there are plenty of Siamese cat statues and this tiger stuffed animal on the beautiful red daybed in my room.  Pat's husband Mark is a lot quieter than Pat, very tidy, and only likes one of the cats.  Opposites attract, although I'm sure that they have some commonalities that I'm not seeing.

Went to church

 Mary and Jesus
Jesus' first miracle--turning water into wine at a wedding feast.  Below this mosaic was inscribed Mary's last  line in the bible, "Do whatever he tells you."  Rather ironic words, considering Mary's whole mission in life was to point people towards Jesus and his teachings.
I went rollerblading and took photos of campus.  I'm still partial to ISU's campus, but Michigan does have pretty brick bldgs.

And they have a bell tower that chimes every quarter of an hour like ISU.

 The botanical garden

Ahh!  This guy walked right up to me.  I'm vaccinated but still leery of rabies.
The stadium is right by a river in the middle of campus.
The baseball stadium is next to the fb one.

 I ran into this..homeless?

I am still six.
